When the medical assistant asked Ryker if it would be nice to be able to hear his mom and dad again. He said, "I don't want to be able to hear my mom and dad better!" What a little stinker!

Can you hear me now?
Ryker has been having some ear problems... He has had 3 or 4 ear infections over the last few months and has been having a hard time hearing lately so we decided it was time to have his hearing checked. At first I thought he was choosing to ignore us and only hearing the things he wanted to hear, but after we had his hearing and inner ears checked, turns out, he really couldn't hear very well. When they tested his hearing, he was at a loss of about 20 decibels, which equates to a slight hearing loss in his right ear, which doesn't seem like it would matter much, but apparently a loss of just a few decibels can cause significant hearing problems. After having his hearing tested yesterday, we took him to visit his pediatrician today and found out he had a lot of fluid, wax, and junk built up in his right ear and also another ear infection in his left ear. His doctor was able to get the right ear all cleaned out and put him on an antibiotic again. Hopefully, he will be on his way to hearing normally again!

you should go see an ENT if it is so common, sometimes they can fix things that are causing all those ear infections. BTW I envy your quiet nice primary class!
That is NO fun! Sick kids are the worst. You need to have him get tubes placed. My kids both have horrible ears and they both have tubes. This is Trey's 2nd set. Brie still gets ear infections all the time but they drain and aren't as painful.
If it is affecting his hearing I would look into getting them for Ryker. I think you will be very glad you did.
